This article is about getting the information you need, and making the choices that lead to Creating Wealth

Its about making hopes and dreams a reality for you and your family. It’s about taking a new attitude about wealth accumulation, realizing it is possible to have financial freedom and improve your quality of life.

In today’s world we are in the era of instant gratification. We want the new car, great house, and all the toys that are available, and we want them now; by whatever means necessary. Consider your own situation, how many hours do you work in a week just to make ends meet. For all the time you spend working, do your expenses still manage to exceed your income? Do you think that your best chance of improving your quality of life rests on a winning lottery ticket? If so your’re not alone.

Remember the good old days. It seems that all generations can look back on a time when life was easier, cheaper, and when we knew what to expect, whom we could count on, and where we were headed. If you were a Baby Boomer you planned to work for one company, for your entire career. You had a pension plan, and with government benefit programs, it would provide security for your retirement years.

Today, corporate mergers, downsizing, and shrinking raises have eroded confidence in a secure and stable income stream. Vanishing company pension plans and government benefits have not kept up with today’s cost of living. Millions of people have serious doubts about their ability to retire, and many plan to continue to work into retirement.

Today both husband and wife find that they must work, just to maintain their quality of life and often that is even not enough.

We live in the era of constant access by e-mail, cell phone, and that wonderful invention the Blackberry. We can be working wherever we are and 24 hours a day. Our quality of life as well as our financial security has been eroded.

The era of the quick fix has extended to every area of our lives including our financial lives. The ability to access money and credit has never been greater. How many pre- approved credit card applications do you get a week? How many stores offer you instant approved cards as you go through the checkout, with a discount on your purchase today for getting the card. You can furnish your whole house today and not pay for 5 years, but you will pay BIG when that bill comes due! Applying the quick fix, may be okay for some aspects of your life, but applying this same mindset to your finances could be devastating. There is no sure financial quick fix, to eliminate debt, or create instant wealth.

The good news is that if your’re willing to learn some simple, but powerful principles about how money works, almost anyone can become financially secure. You may think that financial security is unattainable on your income, but often it’s now how much you make, but what you do with what you make.

It doesn’t matter where you are today financially, all you need is some sound information, a little discipline, and a desire to become financially secure; and you can take control of your finances.

Taking control, What they don’t teach you in school.

One of the biggest financial mistakes most people make is relying on someone else to make their financial decisions. They rely on financial institutions and simply take what these financial institutions offer without question. Advice is helpful, but dependence can cost you thousands of dollars over a lifetime. Often institutions are simply selling you a product, its up to you to decide, if that product suits your needs. It’s your money, no one has as much at stake as you, in making sure that it is looked after.

Today many people feel out of control financially- Outside factors in their lives control them. Their jobs, the government, and financial burdens, like debt, control peoples lives. They feel ill about their finances instead of feeling good.

The secret is learning to control what you can control. You can’t control government benefits, but you can build up a retirement fund of your own. You can’t eliminate taxes but you can reduce the amount you pay. You can develop multiple sources of income, to eliminate your dependence on one employer.

The solution is to learn the basic rules of how money works and how to use it wisely. One of the failings of our education system is that we aren’t taught the basic principles of how money works in high school, colleges, or university. When you get your first pay cheque, you’re on your own, there isn’t an instruction book included. As a result people develop bad money habits and those habits become the way they deal with money for the rest of their lives.

To solve your financial problems, you need more knowledge about basic financial principles. Financial planning can make the difference between financial security, and financial disaster. The average person spends thousands of hours working and a fraction of that time planning their financial future. Planning a vacation often gets more attention than their financial future.

Some simple financial principles can help you change your thinking, change your habits, and, if you take action, can solve your financial problems.
